On Creating Legacy

Full Disclosure: I’m so blessed and grateful. Over the last 10 years, I embarked upon an entrepreneur journey that has stretched me beyond my own level of mental, spiritual, physical and emotional understanding. I’ve experienced everything from the halls of Ralph Lauren, over 40 different addresses, an impromptu learning-experiential-relationship that brought me to Australia, TV/Media pursuits, to coaching corporate clients/keynotes, writing books, pointing hundreds of people towards their highest calling and fashion purpose, (LOL) to finding myself in the halls of the Government Assistance Agency and so much more! I had about 10 lives all before I turned 30. I do not hide any of these experiences b/c they all have made me extremely well equipped to pursue my purpose, dreams and goals - not to mention, run a small country somewhere. And, today I can say without hesitation, that I have conquered all of my fears within this last decade of risk taking.

Moreover, my life journey has taught me the value of loving relationships, forgiveness, perseverance, LEARNING, rejection, immense courage, the power of vulnerability and FAITH. When I was at Princeton, my colleague and friend, Inger Parker asked me, “What would it take for you to really create the platform that you’re speaking of right now? For you to believe? Because, the truth is, it will never be enough of this or that to begin...sometimes you have to just go.”

And, I went.

I say all of this to say that, I wanted to learn the kind of faith that brought me to believe in miracles as a child - to embody it. All of it. I wanted to understand what it would truly be like to walk on water - b/c that’s real faith.

You do not need to go to the lengths of my extremities in order to build faith, character or purpose, but I challenge you:

What would you attempt to walk on water for - to wholeheartedly believe in? Maybe 2016 will be a portal to begin a faith journey in discovering this for yourself.

Now, as I celebrate a NYC anniversary, turn the page and begin both a new chapter and book simultaneously, it’s time to run towards new/bigger than life challenges again, rise to a new occasion and create a new decade of fears to conquer.
